    Vegie Bar

Ultra inspiring to see a huge vegetarian restaurant  be so busy all the time… this is one of the best restaurants in Melbourne, and they make some fantastic raw combinations – rawbolognaise, king salad, fruity tutty salad, ChowMein and some wicked desserts. Each week they’re coming up with new raw specials that tantalise the tastebuds, definitely worth a try whether you’re raw or not. These guys have a reputation for big meals, reasonably price and the restaurant is very easy to get to via public transport.. jump on #112 tram from Collins St, or #96 from Bourke St and walk down Rose St.

    They get a B I G thumbs up.

If you want a little more privacy, ask to be seated in Lawrie’sLounge!

    MonkBodhiDharma

Quite literally Balaclava’s hidden secret, this den is tucked away behind shops on the corner of Carlisle and Chapel Streets.. on Friday nights the cafe becomes a restaurant with the most stunning dishes that get strangers talking as the waiters walk by carrying works of art… “oooohhh what did you order?… no way, is that raw/vegan??”

An intimate setting with relaxing music, there are two seatings on Friday nights only, either at 7pm or 8.30 – bookings essential.

    Yong Greens

Also on Brunswick (compared to Vegie Bar, other the side closer to Alexandra Parade) the energy is peaceful, although busy at the same time. It’s become so popular they bought the shop next door and expanded this year.

Mock vegan dishes, wicked desserts and reasonably priced.
